5 NFL teams that did the most to help their QB in 2023

The NFL draft is always an exciting time for football fans as teams look to improve their rosters for the upcoming season. One of the most critical positions in the game is quarterback, and it’s essential for teams to surround their QB with weapons to succeed. In the 2023 NFL draft, several teams did an excellent job of helping their quarterbacks. A lot of teams added weapons and offensive help, but given the lack of depth at those two positions there wasn’t a lot of top-end talent to choose from.  Two teams that did a great job but didn’t make the list were the Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Ravens.

The Packers, who are moving on from longtime quarterback Aaron Rodgers and handing the reins to Jordan Love, focused on doubling down on tight ends in the draft. On Day 2, they addressed their receiving corps by selecting Musgrave, who brings a different element to their tight end room with his size and speed. While Musgrave had a strong showing in 2022 before his injury, he’s still a projection play for the Packers.

Meanwhile, the Ravens added Odell Beckham Jr. in the off-season to lore Lamar Jackson back, and it worked. But the Ravens didn’t stop there. They got their new $200M signal-caller an explosive weapon in the form of Zay Flowers. The dynamic slot target has great speed and athleticism and can side-step press and move with unbridled energy. He has above-average acceleration and ball skills that will make him a valuable addition to the Ravens’ offense, alongside Odell Beckham Jr., Rashod Bateman, and Nelson Agholor.

Despite the Packers and Ravens’ fantastic efforts to bolster their offense. Four other teams did an even better job.

In Geno they trust. The Seattle Seahawks have made some significant additions to their offense, making it clear that they are all in on Geno Smith. The team has added two key weapons in Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Zach Charbonnet, both of whom should prove to be valuable assets for the team.

If you haven’t heard, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a pro-ready player who should excel in the slot between DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Smith-Njigba has shown poise and a strong skill set in traffic, making him a great security blanket for Smith. He’s a ready-made route runner

Next up is Zach Charbonnet, a running back who should help the team protect Geno Smith with a strong ground game. Charbonnet has excellent size and strength, making him a great downhill runner. He has outstanding contact balance and arm tackle-breaking ability, as well as good hands and pass-catching ability, making him a three-down back. While his breakaway speed may be lacking, he has the necessary run instincts, vision, size, and power to excel as an NFL starter.

Together, Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker should make a fantastic duo, helping to run the Seahawks into the playoffs. While Charbonnet’s upside may be capped, he is an easy evaluation for the next level, possessing the necessary skills to be a valuable asset to the team.
