Barbara Read has twenty years of marketing and management experience in both large and small companies. In addition to serving as a business counselor for the Sierra College Small Business Development Center, Barbara's background includes:

• Marketing Instructor for Sierra College Community Education
• Vice President of Marketing for Telecommand Software and Services (a software development and consulting firm located in Rocklin, CA)
• Vice President of Operations for Caetra Network Security (an information technology security firm located in Rocklin, CA)

Prior to this, Barbara worked for eight years in marketing management for Neutrogena Corporation, launching five new products, and managing the marketing strategies of three existing product lines. While at Neutrogena, Barbara worked with several advertising agencies to develop TV, print and radio advertising, created and executed national promotions, oversaw package design and worked with marketing research firms to assess consumer needs/preferences.

Barbara has an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.A. in philosophy from Stanford University.
